Super Bowl XLIX has come and gone. The game, which was played in Phoenix, Arizona was won by the New England Patriots who beat the Seattle Seahawks 28-24. Some would argue, however, that the competition on the field played second fiddle to the competition that took place during the commercial breaks.
NBC charged $4.5 million for a 30 second spot during The Big Game. With that kind of money on the table, advertisers were forced to roll out their very best commercials. Even the new 15 second spots were snapped up quickly by companies new to Super Bowl advertising, like Skittles and Carnival Cruise Lines.
Although a few car companies bowed out of the Super Bowl commercial game this year, there was still a decent lineup of car ads. Here are our favorite automotive spots from Super Bowl 49, including the FIAT 500x (pictured) and our pick for the SimplyRides.com Super Bowl Car Commercial of the Year. Yeah, it’s a mouthful but you get the point.
