With the Let’s Move! initiative, First Lady Michelle Obama has made it her priority to get Americans physically active. And, in case you were wondering, yes, the President’s right-hand-woman does practice what she preaches.
In an interview with Marie Claire Magazine, Lady O. said that going to the gym, or riding her bicycle can be “therapeutic” and a great stress reliever. And she’s not the only one who thinks so. Whether they were riding for transportation, exercise, or just plain fun, big-time celebs, such as Beyonce, Solange Knowles, Usher, Joy Bryant, Serena Williams and NeNe Leakes have all been recently spotted on bikes! Is bicycling one of the top secret ways that celebrities stay in shape??? Hmm.
What’s so great about bicycling, aside from getting you from point A to B? First of all, it’s EASY. Second, it can be a great social activity for you and your friends. Third, it reduces your carbon footprint. Fourth, and most important, bicycling is beneficial to your health!
Bike riding improves cardiovascular strength and endurance, whittles away your waistline, and tones your arms, hips, thighs, and butt–making sure that you’ll look super-fab in your new summer bikini, or maybe even that Herve Leger bandage dress that you’ve been eyeing!
