SOL ASCENSION: A GLOBAL SOUL SOIREE

Singer, songwriter, recording artist, actor, and global soul impresario, Manchildblack (above) curates part live concert, part dance party, pairing DJ Jihad Muhammad, the reigning “Prince” of the underground dance music scene and Wunmi, who connects Nigeria’s Afrobeat heritage, New York’s house pedigree and London’s jazz, broken beat and classic street soul sounds.

New Zealand’s Fredericks Brown fuses Deva (daughter of Taj) Mahal’s rich soul and blues roots and Steph Brown’s organic Pacific sound with back-up by Michael Taylor. Suga Bush (left) offers a funky, rock-tinged, neo-soul experience born in the streets of Philadelphia.
